THIEBAUT DE BERNEAUD, Arsenne. - Éloge historique de François Rozier - Paris, imprimerie de A. Barbier, 1833. Barbier, 1833, small booklet, 92 pp. in-8, paperback, contemporary blue cover. First edition. Arsenne Thiébaut de Bernaud, born in Sedan in 1777, died in 1840, wrote numerous scientific and agronomic articles for newspapers and dictionaries, and contributed to the Comptes-rendus de la Société Linnéenne. In his later years, he was librarian at the Bibliothèque Mazarine. He was the first botanist to develop the phenomenon of spontaneous apparitions. In this eulogy, he studies the life and work of Abbé François Rozier, comparing him with the great agronomists of previous centuries, and mentions his printed works and unpublished studies. An important document that clearly outlines Abbé Rozier's influence at the end of the 18th century.
