Jean Baptiste NINI (1717-1786). after. Circular terracotta medallion in bas-relief depicting "ALBERTINE NEE BARONNE DE NIVENHEIM - 1768" in bust on her right profile. Diameter: 16.1 cm. Notes: A similar example in the Musée Carnavalet under inventory number S3406, and another, signed, in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs under number 13944-8. The surrounding inscription is a direct allusion to both her social status and her personality, as the words ''née'' indicate a desire to highlight Albertine's aristocratic origins, while also providing information on the young woman's separation from her husband Pater, a wealthy planter from Surinam, whom she had married in 1762.
