Statuette of the goddess Kannon, the Buddhist deity of compassion, made of stuccoed wood and lightly accented with polychrome paint. The serene face, with half-closed eyes, is crowned by a tall, stylized, draped headdress and a pectoral jewel.
Edo period, late 18th–early 19th century.
