MALAYSIA - Sumatra A fabric collar richly decorated with low-purity silver ornaments and roses; the three largest are star-shaped, and there are numerous low-purity silver medallions gilded and stamped with designs of birds with outstretched wings and stylized flowers. Late 19th century. Front height: 28 cm. Shoulder width: 33 cm Provenance: Private collection in Paris. Notes: This is believed to be a ruff from a Melaka wedding dress.
